Sunrise Rides at Dachstein Krippenstein

The day begins in darkness. While the valley sleeps, the gondola of the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car glides upward to 2,100 metres above sea level – an ascent from night into the first light of day. At the top, one of the most breathtaking natural spectacles in the region unfolds: the sun rises as a glowing fireball above the horizon, bathing the Dachstein peaks, the glacier and the entire summit world of the Salzkammergut in warm morning light. A moment felt with eyes open and closed alike.

A morning stroll to the 5fingers viewing platform or the World Heritage Spiral rounds off the experience – with a panoramic view across the UNESCO World Heritage region Hallstatt-Dachstein. Vitalhotel Gosau is just a few minutes from Obertraun and is the ideal base for the early ride. On returning, guests are welcomed with breakfast and views of the Gosaukamm.
